This blog is about managing software development. My blog posts are not just for managers, but for everyone who is concerned with the dynamics of software projects. I am writing from the perspective of someone who needs to run a software development organization, while trying to keep both customers and employees happy. You can find articles on topics like Practices & Discipline, People & Motivation, and Management & Leadership.
Besides programming, I have developed a passion for complexity science, and I attempt to relate it to software development and management. You can find various articles on this subject in categories like Complex Systems and Adaptation & Improvement.

What else do you do?
I give presentations about management, complexity and agile software development at seminars and conferences (invite me!). Occasionally I publish some articles in magazines, and I'm trying to write a book about complexity and managing software development.
What does NOOP.NL mean?
NOOP stands for NO OPeration. It is an instruction for a computer to do nothing. It has a strong link with management, as I think the best managers are those who can let an organization grow successfully while doing nothing.
